I.                   Les verbes au présent. Fill in the blank with the appropriate form of the verb in the present tense. (15)

II.                L’impératif. Fill in the blank with the correct form.(5)

III.             Les adjectifs possessifs. Complete each blank with the logical possessive adjective. (10)

IV.              C’est / il est / elle est. Complete each blank with either c’est, il est, or elle est. (8)

V.                 La place des adjectifs. Add the adjectives in parentheses to the nouns in the following sentences. Rewrite the ENTIRE sentence (10)

VI.              Les pronoms toniques. Fill in each blank with the correct stressed pronoun. (3)

VII.           Les chiffres. Write out the following numbers in French. (5)

VIII.        Quelle heure est-il? Express the following times in French. Write out the times (do not use numerals). Use a complete sentence each time. (5)

IX.              Quel temps fait-il? Express the following weather conditions in French. Use a complete sentence each time. (5)

X.                 Les prépositions à et de et l’article défini. (10)

a.       Complete each sentence with the appropriate preposition and/or article: à, à la, à l’, au, aux.

b.      Complete each sentence with the apprpriate preposition and/or article : de, de la, de l’, du, des.

XI.              Des questions. . . We have the answers, but what are the questions ? Use either est-ce que or inversion. Find the question which elicits the underlined part of the answers. (8)

XII.           Encore des questions. Now it’s your turn to answer questions. Note : these questions elicit personal responses, but feel free to make up an answer if you like. (6)

XIII.        Les pronoms d’objet direct. Replace the underlined word with the appropriate direct object pronoun. (10)
