| Using my concept sketches as a guide, I
developed a scaled diagram of the floor plan, utilizing interlocking,
adjacent and overlapping ellipses. These diagrams were drawn in Autocad. I felt the symmetry of the diagram was important in relating the symmetry we see in nature and planned to then create the variation of shape and form in the articulation of the individual elements. |

| The above diagram was changed slightly by
reorienting the bedroom ellipses to afford better accessibility to these
bedroom spaces. The second parti diagram was converted into a floor plan of the design. |

| As the development of the plan took place
it was easy to see additional space was needed in the master bedroom area
for a bath and dressing area so the center ellipse was extended.
What is important to understand is that the functional organization of the spaces informed the parti and were not forced into some predefined organization. |

| I went back to the original 2D diagram
drawing and made changes to the parti diagram enlarging the master bedroom
ellipse and introducing several more layers of ellipses through the center
of the house. These ellipses were to be used for the skylight opening down
the center of Kitchen/Living/Dining area of the house Another floor plan was developed from the this diagram with further spatial refinements

| The same parti diagram was used to develop a elevation sketch of how the undulating nature of vertical form should develop |
