Fri. Jan 19: Featured artwork lecture; Discuss Grieder reading (14-30).

Assignment for next time: Read "Introduction" by Steve Edwards in Art and its Histories (1999), (reading in the syllabus pp. 2-15). Prepare to discuss what the "canon" is and how it got to be.
