In addition to service on specific committees, as Graduate Coordinator, I organized and chaired all the preview committees for prospective Master of Art Education (through 1997) and Ph.D. students (through 1998); organized and chaired all preliminary and qualifying examinations for MAE and PhD students in the department; organized and chaired annual reviews of doctoral students; served as the faculty advisor for all MAE and PhD students; and, finally, conducted all the correspondence and recruiting contacts with prospective graduate students in the MAE and PhD programs. In 2001, I was appointed Graduate Coordinator for the MAE degree again.

1995: Member of the Orchestra Advisory Committee and Players Committee for the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra. Performed solos for Westminster Presbyterian Church (Aug. 20)—Boismortier and Devienne.

1994: (Aug. 4) Performed bassoon solo (Mozart Sonata) for Westminster Presbyterian Church; Member Programming Committee for West Texas Museum Association. Regularly play bassoon and contrabassoon in the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra, Plainview Symphony Orchestra, Roswell (NM) Symphony Orchestra and get called to play occasionally in the Midland-Odessa Symphony Orchestra and the Orchestra of Santa Fe.

1993: (July 18) Performed bassoon solo for Westminster Presbyterian Church worship service (Vivaldi, Concerto en Mi mineur, movts. 1&2; (July 3) Played in a bassoon trio performance in the Fourth on Broadway celebration for the City of Lubbock, sponsored by the Lubbock Arts Alliance; (March 27) Judge for the Sweetwater, Texas, Sidewalk Arts and Crafts Show; (April 16) Performed in Haydn’s Creation in orchestra with The Lubbock Chorale.

1992: (Sept 25): Judge for the school art competition at the Panhandle South Plains Fair. Regularly played bassoon in the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra, Plainview Symphony Orchestra, and periodically with the Midland-Odessa Symphony Orchestra, the Roswell (NM) Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestra of Santa Fe, the Lubbock Civic Chorale.

1990: (Nov. 29) Presentation on the bassoon in art and music, Presbyterian Fun Bunch Program, Lubbock, TX: First Presbyterian Church. (August 12) Performed Telemann Sonata bassoon solo for worship service, First Presbyterian Church, Lubbock, TX. Director of art education student practicum at the Lubbock County Youth Center (prison for children ages 10-17), Texas Tech University [spring, summer]. Jurist for art competition grades K-12 for the Lubbock County Arts Festival.

1989: (Oct. 6) Performed in bassoon ensemble benefit concert for KOHM radio fundraiser, Lubbock, TX. (March 23) Presentation: Methods of art criticism. Lubbock Art Association Series, Lubbock, TX: Garden Arts Center.

1988: Judge for Brownfield High School art competition. (June 9) Performed in bassoon ensemble benefit concert for KOHM radio fundraiser, Lubbock, TX.
